Workshops

We have divided our protein microarray training workshops into three main categories to best fit your demands. Please let us know your specific needs upon request.

Training Categories

3-Day

  • 1 slide
  • Basic quantification
  • More

1-Week

  • 1 slide
  • In-depth quantification
  • More

2+ Weeks

  • Up to 400 samples
  • In-depth quantification
  • More

3-Day Workshop

This is the shortest training we offer. By taking our 3 days workshop, you`ll have access to a quick overview of the methodology and experience, hands-on, how to probe Protein Microarray Slides, assisted by an instructor, and have the opportunity to develop the skills to perform your own experiments and have an overview of the basic quantification and analysis methods. A perfect option for a first look into the technology!

Although this can be made to fit your needs, a simplified chronogram suggestion for this category is:

Day 1: Mini Orientation/ Overview of Protein Microarray / Set up 1 microarray slide (shown by instructor)

Day 2: Finish probing (shown by instructor) / Quantify / Quick analysis / Set up 1 microarray slide (by a visitor)

Day 3: Finish probing (by visitor)/ Quantify / Quick analysis / Discussion

1-Week Workshop

With our 1 week Workshop, you will have the opportunity to go more in-depth and gain more experience. In a way, similar to the 3-day workshop, you`ll start with an overview of the methodology and with the assistance of an instructor, you`ll be able to probe your first slide and go over the whole protocol. After that, you`ll have the opportunity to develop another set of slides, to both improve your skills and also acquire more practice, and, of course, generate valuable data! After probing, we will go over the initial steps of quantification, data visualization, and data analysis.

Although this can be made to fit your needs, a simplified chronogram suggestion for this category is:

Day 1: Mini Orientation / Overview of Microarray / Set up 1 microarray slide (shown by instructor)

Day 2: Finish probing (shown by instructor)/ Scan / Quantify / Quick analysis/ Set up 1 microarray slide (by the visitor)

Day 3: Finish probing (by visitor)/ Scan / Quantify / Initial analysis/ Set up new set of slides *

Day 4: Finish developing the microarray slides / Set up new slides, depending on needs

Day 5: Finish developing all slides/ Scan/ Quantify / Data Analysis (Normalization, Data visualization)/ Discussion

* The number of slides to be probed can vary according to specific conditions. Please, feel free to consult us to prepare the best probing plan possible!

2-Week to 1-Month Workshop

The outline of the workshop may vary depending on visitor’s needs and experience (up to 400 samples).

With our two week to one month training, you have a more complete and in-depth view on microarray analysis. You will start with an overview of the methodology and with the assistance of an instructor, you will be able to probe your first slide and go over the whole protocol. After that, you will have the opportunity to develop another set of slides, to both improve your skills and also acquire more and more practice. Of course, as an added bonus, you may be able to generate valuable data! After probing, we will go over the initial steps of quantification, data visualization, and data analysis. This is perfect chronogram for larger sample collections and specific methodological needs.

Although this can be made to fit your needs, a simplified chronogram suggestion for this category is:

Day 1: Orientation/ Overview of Protein Microarray / Plan experiment; Instructor will show how to develop microarray – incubate one slide overnight (batch 1).

Day 2: Finish developing a slide and check for signals on a scanner/ Set up protein microarray (by the visitor) and incubate overnight (batch 2).

Day 3: Finish developing batch 2 microarrays / Scan / Quantify / Initial analysis / Set up protein microarray batch 3 *.

Day 4: Finish developing batch 3 microarrays / Set up protein microarray batch 4*.

Day 5: Finish developing batch 4 microarrays / Scan / Quantify / Initial analysis / Plan for next week’s experiment.

Day 6: Set up protein microarray batch 5*.

Day 7: Finish developing batch 5 microarrays / Set up protein microarray batch 6*.

Day 8: Finish developing batch 6 microarrays / Scan arrays using ArrayCam, quantify spot intensity and perform the initial analysis. If needed, set up more arrays.

Day 9: Finish developing more arrays (if needed) / Data analysis – Metadata aligning, Normalization, Data visualization, and discussion.

Day 10: More data analysis and discussion.

* The number of slides to be probed can vary according to specific conditions. Please, feel free to consult us to prepare the best probing plan possible!
